In this Book Rudolf Steiner introduces us to certain meditations which are to be considered as reflections and knowledge with which the spiritual investigator must become familiar if he wants to develop certain abilities for clairvoyance. However, Rudolf Steiner warns the reader and the aspirant:
 "Man can only rise to clairvoyance, without harming himself, if he develops the appropriate qualities starting from an entirely healthy life in sensible reality. He who believes he is getting closer to the higher worlds by moving away of normal life, through absurd originalities is in the most complete error, the better man fulfills his intellectual, sentimental, moral and social duties and the more easily the faculties of clairvoyance will develop in him.
